The Orthopedics Ward 12 of Tri-Service General Hospital has pioneered the Enhanced Recovery After Surgery (ERAS) based "3E-JOINT" nursing care model. This model provides continuous, full-term care for joint replacement patients. Accelerating post-operative recovery in three stages: pre-operative, intra-operative, and post-operative. Pre-operatively, nurses consult with physical therapists, pharmacists, and nutritionists to form a cross-disciplinary team, providing technologically advanced health education and guidance. Patients learn rehabilitation exercises before surgery and are assessed on medication to maintain appropriate blood sugar levels and reduce bleeding risk. On the day of surgery, following a "no solid food after midnight, drink clear liquids 2 hours before surgery" fasting strategy to avoid prolonged hunger. Antibiotics and hemostatic agents are administered. Post-operatively, nurses use the nationwide originality "SafeEAT Countdown" app for post-operative guidance, individualized pain management strategies, early rehabilitation and early ambulation, and early removal of drainages.
