Established in 2006, Chang Gung Taoyuan TCM Department launched Taiwan's first TCM cancer ward (50 beds), integrating Eastern-Western medicine for cancer care. Multiple SNQ, National Biotech Quality Award, MOEA Solidarity Circle, and MOHW Jade Step Award honors. The team includes 20 attending physicians, 18 residents, 10 nurses, and 20 TCM pharmacists across Internal/Pediatrics, Acupuncture, Gynecology, ward, and pharmacy. Head & neck care follows a standardized flow: baseline assessment → TCM intervention → progress evaluation, with EORTC and CTCAE tracking. Innovative formulae include Tseng-Yi-Tang gargle, Gan-Lu-Yin, Chui-Hou-San for radiation mucositis; Bai-Zhi-Aloe gel for radiation dermatitis; Ren-Shen-Yang-Rong-Tang & Gui-Lu-Er-Hsien-Jiao for cytopenia; acupuncture (Baihui, Hegu) for cancer fatigue; herbal hot-pack for chronic pain.
