We aim to establish a patient-centered, comprehensive integrative nursing care model that bridges Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM) and Western medicine. This model is actively being implemented across various clinical specialties within Western medicine. Furthermore, we are dedicated to advancing evidence-based research in TCM nursing and extending these validated practices into community healthcare and geriatric services. By demonstrating the unique professional capabilities of nursing, our ultimate goal is to comprehensively safeguard and optimize public health.
First in Taiwan to establish 50-bed inpatient TCM ward and TCM Health Center. 2. Eight integrated Chinese-Western care models: allergic rhinitis, knee osteoarthritis, pediatric CP/asthma, constipation, insomnia, head and neck tumor, orthognathic surgery, stroke. 3. TCM nursing IT systems. 4. Standardized procedures (18 protocols and 7 disease standards). 5. Three-tier talent cultivation. 6. Integrated care recognized by international (Ethiopian) patients.
Allergic rhinitis: sneezing 51→30%, rhinorrhea 56→29%, nasal congestion 66→35%. Knee osteoarthritis pain ↓20%. Insomnia: psychiatric patients reduced sedatives from second-line to first-line.
Constipation care: flatulence 3.37→7.97, bowel sensation 6.63→12.17, abdominal distension relief 1.83→10.04, successful defecation 3.5→11.97 times.
Orthognathic surgery integrated care: aromatherapy and foot bath reduced pain from 5 to 3, satisfaction 4.25 (85%). Head and neck tumor: aloe gel improved skin pigmentation damage.
Stroke inpatients: NIH 12.44→11.91, Barthel index 33.95→47.79 (P<0.001); ADL significantly improved.
Talent cultivation: 43 trained in 9-credit TCM courses, 78 in advanced training, 6 seed instructors, 183 domestic interns, 10 international observation events per year.
Compared with domestic/international benchmark hospitals, the hospital owns complete integrated Chinese-Western nursing including 50 inpatient beds, holistic integrated nursing, TCM Health Center and consultation system - top in Asia.
