Very preterm infants (<33 weeks)
Very low birth weight infants
Our team aims to reduce the incidence of chronic lung disease (CLD) in preterm infants through a preventive, minimally invasive, personalized, and longitudinal care model. By integrating standardized respiratory protocols, minimally invasive surfactant therapy (MIST), objective extubation assessment tools, and multidisciplinary collaboration, we effectively shorten invasive ventilation duration and reduce lung injury. Post-discharge care is strengthened through cloud-based home-visiting systems and AI-assisted neurodevelopmental prediction models. This comprehensive approach has consistently achieved CLD rates below national averages and comparable to international benchmarks, establishing a leading neonatal respiratory care model in Taiwan.
