NTUH's Center of Reproductive Medicine operates with the mission of patient-centered care, integrated resources, continuous innovation, and high-quality clinical outcomes. Its team of many attending physicians, counselors, technicians, and fellows drives innovation across 10 reproductive medicine domains. Six global/international firsts: (1) World-first: egg thawing 3-hour spindle recovery >90% (Human Reproduction 2001, cover); (2) World-first: frozen egg survival/pregnancy rates equivalent to embryo freezing (2005); (3) World-first: whole-genome amplification for embryo gene/HLA testing (2008); (4) World-first PGD preventing hereditary hearing loss (cover); (5) World-first blastocyst biopsy + vitrification for neurofibromatosis PGD; (6) World-first sperm tail-end cutting ICSI technique. IVF live birth rates exceed Stanford University across all age groups; international patients account for 10.1% (2010–2011); 40 visiting physicians from worldwide (2006–2011).
