Target Population

The service recipients of the Early Intervention Center are children aged 0–6 years with suspected or confirmed developmental delays, as well as their families.

Description

By integrating medical, rehabilitative, and social resources, we reduce family burdens and build a sustainable support network, ensuring timely intervention for children with developmental delays.

Key Highlights

Our "Developmental Delay Joint Assessment Center" brings together a 49-member multidisciplinary team, including physicians from Rehabilitation, Child Psychiatry, and Pediatric Neurology, alongside occupational/physical/speech therapists, clinical psychologists, audiologists, social workers, and case managers. As the only center in the nation offering "simultaneous cross-specialty joint consultations," our unique model allows three specialists to evaluate a child collaboratively, eliminating the need for multiple separate visits and enhancing diagnostic accuracy.

Our team has provided developmental assessment services to 4,118 children, with an average of 686 children receiving joint multidisciplinary evaluations each year.

  • A total of more than 37 presentations and research outcome disseminations have been delivered at national and international venues.

Benefits and Impacts

  • We provide LINE consultations, proactively follow up re-evaluation cases, and distribute screening forms and guidelines to expedite assessments and support families.

  • To shorten waiting times, the Center prioritizes assessments and subsequently arranges interventions and resource applications based on individual needs.

  • Our Center is the only nationwide facility offering simultaneous three-specialty consultations and has implemented a family-centered model to accelerate scheduling and prevent service gaps.

  • By integrating outpatient and assessment workflows, evaluations are completed on the same day, reducing the burden on families.
