Postgraduate Year (PGY) Pharmacists
Clinical Preceptors in Teaching Hospitals
In alignment with global shifts in medical education, the Department of Pharmacy at MacKay Memorial Hospital has pioneered the advancement of Competency-Based Pharmacy Education (CBPE) in Taiwan. This initiative establishes rigorous clinical milestones and Entrustable Professional Activities (EPAs) tailored for postgraduate year (PGY) training. By integrating digital portfolios with data visualization analytics, the program precisely monitors learning trajectories, empowering the Clinical Competency Committee (CCC) to ensure robust competency progression and quality control. Beyond fortifying core competencies and patient safety, the program has disseminated its successful model to teaching hospitals nationwide, driving systemic innovation in pharmacy education and fulfilling MacKay’s social responsibility as a national leader in healthcare excellence.
