FEMH has introduced the concept of horticultural therapy ever since 2007. When Psychiatric Day Care Unit was established in 2008, horticultural therapy program started, too. Since 2009, we have adopted the EU's "Green Care" concept, expanding our collaborations with teams specializing in horticultural therapy, animal-assisted therapy, forest therapy, and adventure therapy. After 17 years of dedicated development, we established the "Department of Mental Health and Green Care" in September 2024, integrating psychiatric care, mental health, and green care services. We also collaborate with the Department of Family Medicine across departments, committed to providing patients, families, and the community with diverse and humanistic care models.
By collaborating with medical expertise and emerging yet attractive green care models, and leveraging the fascination in, like horticultural therapy and animal-assisted therapy, we bring health and healing benefits to numerous patients, realizing a health concept that improves bio-psycho-social aspects at once.
The day care center holds weekly horticultural therapy groups, with approximately 1,300 participants annually.
The hospice care unit provides monthly animal-assisted therapy and two horticultural therapy sessions.
