Far Eastern Memorial Hospital (FEMH) has long been deeply committed to organ donation , viewing it as a core expertise and a crucial fulfillment of social responsibility. Through a comprehensive organ donation system and multidisciplinary team collaboration, the hospital provides patients and their families with sufficient information and respects their space for choice during end-of-life care, helping them make decisions that align with their wishes among good death, palliative care, and organ donation. Organ donation coordinators work year-round, connecting the emergency room, intensive care units, operating rooms, transplant teams, and social work system to ensure the processes comply with regulations, ethics, and humanistic care. In addition to clinical practice, FEMH is actively engaged in social promotion, campus education, and caring for donor families. Through Organ Donation Memorial Day, workshops, and family support groups, they accompany families through grief, transforming loss into the meaning of life continuation, thus shaping organ donation into a socially shared life value.

Guided by the core philosophy of "Sustainability in Life, Environment, and Humanity," the Far Eastern Memorial Hospital (FEMH) Organ Donation Team integrates life education into a comprehensive care network. • Life Sustainability: From 2022 to 2025, the team honored the wishes of 106 donors, gifting 379 organs and tissues—including 18 hearts, 7 lungs, 37 livers, 78 kidneys, 7 small intestines, and 161 corneas—giving countless patients a second lease on life. • Environmental Sustainability: By advocating for patient autonomy and end-of-life care, the team reduces futile medical treatment, optimizes resource utilization, and lowers carbon emissions, actualizing green healthcare. • Humanistic Sustainability: The team provides long-term bereavement support through grief counseling and expressive therapies. This profound connection inspired many families to sign their own donor cards, fostering a cycle of goodwill. Furthermore, through life education initiatives, the team trained 233 "End-of-Life Guardian" volunteers between 2023 and 2024. In 2025, their innovative National Organ Donation Awareness Campaign successfully engaged 34,587 people, securing 3rd place nationwide. FEMH bridges medical care with community outreach, ensuring every life is respected, every farewell carries warmth, and love endures.
