Description

Since the establishment of the hospital's epidemic response command center in the early stages of the COVID-19 outbreak on January 16, 2020—organized under the Hospital Incident Command System (HICS) framework and convening regular meetings to facilitate emergency preparedness—the hospital has utilized Team Resource Management (TRM). Encompassing the four key dimensions of leadership, collaboration, mutual monitoring, and communication, this approach integrates services such as backup staffing, home-based care, quarantine facilities, pulmonary rehabilitation, and smart monitoring to safeguard community health.

  • Ranked first in New Taipei City for the number of confirmed patients treated; operated up to 372 dedicated ward beds (highest in the city)

Benefits and Impacts

  • Over 600,000 residents across New Taipei City’s Zhonghe (population 412,856) and Yonghe (population 220,602) districts are under this care umbrella.

  • iCare home care coverage reached 99%; partnerships with primary care clinics expanded from 14 to 36, and the number of patients served increased from 150 to 1,000.

  • Services for the Danhai Centralized Quarantine Facility included remote video consultations (94 patients), medication delivery (94 patients), and transfers from designated hospitals (22 patients).

  • Comprehensive emotional support for staff, health promotion programs, and a "skill-mixed" care model.

  • Pulmonary rehabilitation care: utilized YouTube instructional videos for breathing exercises and established interactive platforms via LINE groups.
