Taosijyu Dementia Day Care Center is rooted in the healthcare system of Taipei Veterans General Hospital, Taoyuan Branch, and officially began operations in July 2021 (ROC Year 110). The center can accommodate up to 24 individuals with dementia. In collaboration with the hospital’s psychiatric professional team, Taosijyu aims to create a care environment that integrates “medical professionalism” with “human warmth.”
Guided by eight core values—Trust (T), Activity (A), One-on-one care (O), Support (S), Insight (I), Join (J), Your safety (Y), and Unity (U)—the center offers comprehensive care specifically designed for individuals with dementia.
Using a case management model, the center integrates resources from medical, nursing, psychological, occupational therapy, and social work domains. It provides a variety of non-pharmacological, life-oriented therapeutic programs, such as reminiscence therapy, music therapy, and group therapy. Cognitive and daily living skills training is enhanced through the use of assistive technologies and smart equipment.
