Target Population

A professional medical care team provides holistic care centered on critically ill patients.

Description

Adhering to the mission of 'Love God, Love People; Respect Life,' we act out of love to care for our patients' feelings. Guided by the 'Four Total Care' philosophy, we provide attentive, warm care, promote compassionate nursing practices, foster a friendly workplace, and cultivate professional nursing talent.

Key Highlights

Mother Teresa said, "Love is seeing your own responsibility in the needs of others!" Clinical work is busy, but we should do nursing work happily. Through the "Warm Nursing" activity, we can rediscover the original intention of nursing, re-establish the value and positioning of nursing, continue to adhere to our original intention of passing on warmth to those in need, let people feel happiness, and go the extra mile in our work.

Service Data

Starting in 2019, our department has promoted warmness activities in different nursing units. Due to the distinctiveness of critical care units, patients do not have family members by their bedside, so the promotion of warm activities is more effective. The essential units of care will have “Daily birthdays- Cheer up cards and birthday cards activities,” “Nurses and patients heart to heart,” A Glass of water is deep in Love,” “Discharging premature babies- stepping out for xin (heart) mileage” etc. Although seemingly inconspicuous, they irrigate warm feelings in the patients’ hearts.

Featured Outcomes

Reduction in the rate of unplanned ICU readmissions.

The number of thank-you letters from patients and their families has increased significantly year by year.

Safety Outcomes

Providing safe medical equipment and devices.

Comfortable environment and facilities.

Optimized COVID-19 workflows — ensuring a safe working environment for staff.

Satisfaction

From 2019 to 2022 , inpatient satisfaction scores consistently exceeded 92 points.

The highest-rated items among nursing staff were "peer interaction," "mutual respect among members," and "support and care from supervisors."

International Achievements

(2021-2025): Achieved Silver Medal in TCHA Quality Improvement Competition (2021). Multiple awards (Excellence/Selection) in Taiwan Healthcare Quality Management Competitions through 2025.

Benefits and Impacts

In 2020, a patient's family donated NT$1 million to critical care nurses to support the training of outstanding staff and ensure patients receive high-quality care.

Compassionate nursing activities have expanded hospital-wide. The Nursing Department was certified as a "Nursing-Friendly Workplace Exemplar" in 2026.
