Administrative and nursing staff, as well as all units of Taipei Tzu Chi Hospital.
Partner healthcare institutions in cross-hospital collaborations and their nursing informatics seed members
The Nursing Department of Taipei Tzu Chi Hospital implemented the Microsoft Power Platform to address issues such as time-consuming paper audits, scattered data, and repetitive tasks. This program upholds the “Person-Centered and Wisdom-to-Use” philosophy, under which the Nursing Department cultivates seed nursing members to use low-code technology to develop 60 applications, improving work processes across management, clinical care, and education. By integrating data from the HRP, HIS, and NIS systems, “one-page, one-click” visual dashboards were implemented, resulting in an over 80% improvement in administrative efficiency and a reduction in audit time from 5–7 days to just 1 day. Furthermore, the platform integrates automated reminder and alert systems within Microsoft Teams, significantly enhancing quality of care and patient safety, reducing the overall infection rate from 0.93‰ to 0.45‰, and promoting sustainability by saving 500,000 sheets of paper and reducing carbon emissions by 9 tons annually.
Therefore, this program is not merely a tool development initiative, but a smart ecosystem driven by nursing innovation, serving as a benchmark for digital transformation in smart nursing.
Nursing-led Development: cultivate nurses to independently develop and maintain BI apps, thereby enabling the digitalization of micro-processes.
Data-driven Decisions: developed a “Nursing Digital Management Platform” that integrates databases from multiple sources to enable real-time trend monitoring and anomaly alerts.
Full-link Smart Model: featuring seamless integration of five tools—from Forms to Power BI—creating a complete management loop encompassing data input, analysis, and decision-making.
