SARS-CoV-2 infects humans primarily through the oral mucosa, making the oral cavity a crucial entry point for viral invasion. The team developed the "Jieyuan Herbal Oral Cleansing Solution," featuring natural herbal components such as theaflavins. Utilizing specialized extraction technology, the product effectively suppresses the expression of viral receptors (ACE2 and TMPRSS2) in oral mucosal cells and blocks the binding of SARS-CoV-2 spike protein to these receptors. Clinical studies have validated the product's safety and efficacy across multiple SARS-CoV-2 variants, particularly the Omicron strain.
