China Medical University Children's Hospital established the Department of Child Development & Mental Behavior in 2023 by integrating the Departments of Child Development & Behavior and Child Mental Health, inheriting the legacy of the Joint Evaluation Center founded in 2004. With a "family-centered" core philosophy, the team includes 3 Palm Tree Award winners and many physicians, psychologists, therapists, and case managers with 20+ years of experience, providing one-stop services from screening, assessment, diagnosis to therapy and parent education. Innovations include online ASQ-3 screening, online joint evaluation scheduling, and Taiwan's first "Early Intervention Therapists" who proactively serve complex delayed children and families. In 2023, completed 1,901 evaluations (#1 nationwide); 2020-2024 H1 early intervention service: 1,950 visits; treatment visits grew from 595 to 1,815. The 9-discipline integrated team realizes holistic care, with AI center collaboration for predicting delay risks.
