Our Gastroenterology Division has implemented the internationally recommended one-day low-residue diet and the addition of simethicone (Gascon) in bowel preparation to enhance colonoscopy quality. This innovative approach significantly increases patient compliance and comfort by reducing dietary restrictions from three days to one day without compromising bowel cleanliness. Additionally, simethicone effectively reduces intestinal bubbles, thus improving visibility and polyp detection rates. According to Taiwan's 2024 national data, our center surpasses the national average in adenoma detection, polyp detection, bowel cleanliness, and cecal intubation rates, highlighting our specialty and expertise in colonoscopy practice.
