Trainees from all health professionals
The Virtual Reality Education Center (VREC) of the Department of Medical Education at Taipei Tzu Chi Hospital promotes holistic care virtual reality teaching and learning. Through collaboration with medical professionals, the VREC creates immersive virtual reality learning modules tailored to the needs of each profession in order to promote the achievement of holistic care learning goals and to further enhance the quality of clinical care. The VREC's holistic care virtual reality learning modules are the first of their kind in the nation, with the largest number of learning modules and the best education results. “Advance Decisions” is recognized as a world-class virtual reality learning module, and “Walking with You - What to Do in Postmortem Care” is the most widely experienced learning module in the country. The VREC has published the most papers and presentations on holistic care virtual reality education domestically and internationally. In addition, the director of VREC and members of the VREC have been invited by major teaching hospitals and related academic institutions to share their experiences. The VREC has also received the National Healthcare Quality Award (NHQA) Medal and Special Award in the Smart Healthcare category. The Director of the VREC was awarded the Associate Fellowship of the Association for Medical Education in Europe (AMEE) in 2024 for his commitment to the development of holistic care virtual reality education.
