In managing the care continuum for patients with diabetes, the Kaohsiung Municipal United Hospital customizes therapeutic goals based on clinical severity. By leveraging AI-driven technologies to design tailored health education and clinical interventions, we ensure a safe, optimal, and empowered experience for patients throughout their 'Happy Glucose Control' journey.

The multidisciplinary diabetes care team comprises 37 professionals, including 23 physicians, 4 certified diabetes educators (CDEs), 6 dietitians, 1 pharmacist, and 3 nursing administrative executives.
From 2021 to 2023, continuing medical education (CME) recorded 655 staff attendances, while specialized diabetes care training generated 23 educational sessions.
Total attendance at diabetes patient support group activities reached 204 participants (86 in 2021, 48 in 2022, and 70 in 2023).
The "Health Butler" platform successfully enrolled 1,470 cases, maintaining an active monthly user base of approximately 705 individuals.
Outpatient volume for specialized diabetes education clinics demonstrated steady growth, with 7,830 visits in 2021, 8,321 in 2022, and 8,853 in 2023.
Between 2021 and 2023, team members successfully published and presented 8 peer-reviewed research poster abstracts.
Diabetes care coverage rates from 2021 to 2023 were 83.38%, 88.05%, and 91.64%, respectively, consistently outperforming national benchmarks.
UACR Screening Rate: 78.80%, 84.45%, and 88.72%, all exceeding the national averages.
Diabetic Retinopathy Screening Rate: 75.79% in 2021, 76.53% in 2022, and 80.15% in 2023, continuously surpassing national benchmarks.
HbA1c control target compliance (HbA1c < 7%): 50.03%, 52.56%, and 57.57%.
Blood pressure control target compliance (BP < 130/80 mmHg): 61.63%, 64.37%, and 66.56%.

Smoking cessation success rates: 29.17% in 2021, 18.94% in 2022, and 75.36% in 2023.
Return visit rates for specialized diabetes health education: 80.15%, 82.43%, and 84.86%.

All instruments and equipment undergo routine preventative maintenance by designated personnel on a monthly basis, while biomedical engineering staff perform calibration and technical servicing for medical electronic equipment bi-monthly.
Quality control (QC) monitoring for glucometers is executed on a strict daily schedule.
The Department of Laboratory Medicine is equipped with advanced diagnostic instrumentation for hematology, biochemistry, and urinalysis. All systems undergo scheduled preventative maintenance by original equipment manufacturers (OEM) and hold accreditations from the Taiwan Society of Laboratory Medicine or equivalent international bodies.
Satisfaction rates for continuing education and clinical teaching: 97.6% in 2021, 98.5% in 2022, and 98.9% in 2023.
The 2023 Patient Education Materials Satisfaction Survey ($n = 782$ valid responses) demonstrated high approval across all dimensions: layout (97.60%), font size (96.00%), clarity and readability (98.40%), alignment with patient needs (99.01%), and overall satisfaction (97.30%).
