Quality Control System for Raw Materials, Semi-finished, and Finished Products :
Raw Materials: Raw materials are sourced from qualified suppliers based on technical specifications and acceptance criteria. Procurement may request supplier questionnaires or QC audits. Upon receipt, staff check documents and packaging. Defective materials are quarantined. All materials are labeled with status, product name, supplier, date, and batch. QC inspects per standards and COA, outsourcing tests if needed. Only compliant materials are released and labeled; storage follows COA.
Semi-finished Products: Production stages are documented. Before manufacturing, QC prints and authorizes batch sheets. Production follows procedures, formulas, and material lists with batch numbers. Each batch receives a unique number for traceability. QC conducts sampling; deviations are investigated and documented. Semi-finished goods are stored in proper containers and areas, with defined storage periods.
Finished Products: Finished goods must pass QC inspection before release, with results recorded. Only products passing checks are released. Storage is managed by product needs and separated from nonconforming items. Returns are clearly labeled, stored separately, and evaluated by QC for further action. All products under review are clearly marked to prevent misuse.
The finished product has been tested and verified to be free of the six major heavy metals, microorganisms, 360 types of Western medicines, and 470 types of pesticides.
Quality Inspection The QC team defines inspection methods and acceptance criteria for all products, including raw materials, semi-finished, and finished goods. QC supervisors review all results for approval. Sampling methods, frequency, and quantities are specified, with measures to prevent contamination.
Raw Material Inspection: QC checks incoming materials based on the COA, SDS, or packaging material standards. Results are recorded for traceability. Qualified materials are labeled and stored; non-conforming ones are labeled, isolated, and staff and suppliers are notified. After re-inspection, compliant materials are released; others are returned or replaced, ensuring only qualified materials are used.
Semi-Finished Product Inspection: Semi-finished products are moved to temporary storage and labeled for inspection. QC checks them against R&D specifications. Qualified products are released for filling or packaging; non-conforming ones are labeled and isolated. QC supervisors re-check quality before the next stage.
Final Product Sampling: QC randomly samples 5% of finished goods at the end of packaging, checking appearance, batch numbers, and quantity. Before release, quality procedures must be followed. If any issues are found, an “Abnormal Report” is issued, causes explained, and corrective actions are taken. Records are kept for quality improvement and traceability.
The Dr's Formula Root-Strengthening Serum was developed with specifically designed ingredient ratios. After screening and testing with human dermal papilla cells by the Chang Gung research team, the most effective formula for promoting dermal papilla cell proliferation was selected. The two key active ingredients, Hydrolyzed Corn Protein and Hydrolyzed Yeast Protein, which strengthen hair roots, were chosen from 26 raw materials provided by international manufacturers. These ingredients were identified through dermal papilla cell proliferation and cytotoxicity tests, confirming their effectiveness in promoting hair growth. Dermal papilla cells are crucial for hair growth. In experiments, various active raw materials were applied to these cells to observe effects on cell growth and identify components that may enhance hair growth. Results showed Hydrolyzed Corn Protein and Hydrolyzed Yeast Protein significantly promote proliferation of dermal papilla cells without affecting cell viability. To further verify efficacy, an IRB-approved study was conducted. Human hair follicles were isolated and cultured in vitro, then treated with natural or synthetic compounds. Ex vivo experiments showed both ingredients significantly promoted hair growth compared to controls.
