"Dr. Red Nose" is the core service program of the Dr. Red Nose Clown Care Association, currently Taiwan's only professional medical clown organization. We train and dispatch highly skilled performing artists who work in pairs to provide long-term, consistent services in hospitals. They deliver tailor-made, improvisational performances for sick children, their families, and medical staff.
The essence of our service is "companionship" and "empowerment." Before each visit, our clowns consult with the medical team to understand each child's condition. In the wards, we use music, play, and humor to respectfully engage with children, inviting them into a world of imagination and giving them back a sense of control and joy amidst passive medical treatments. Since 2015, we have served over 200,000 people across 15 partner hospitals in Taiwan. We are more than just entertainers; we are collaborative partners with healthcare teams, dedicated to promoting friendly healthcare and infusing the medical system with the humanistic care of the arts, acting as steadfast guardians of children's laughter.
