Dine & Slim: The Eating Out Weight Loss Program is designed for people who frequently eat out and face challenges in weight management. The program integrates professional dietitian guidance, digital dietary tracking, and practical meal strategies to help users build sustainable healthy eating behaviors within their daily lifestyle.
The program is based on nutrition science, behavior change principles, and digital health management. Through the Cofit App, users can record meals, review nutritional analysis, track body weight and progress, and receive personalized feedback from dietitians. This process helps users better understand their eating patterns, calorie intake, food choices, portion control, and meal planning.
Key features include one-on-one dietitian coaching, eating-out meal guidance, dietary record analysis, body weight and body composition tracking, staged goal setting, and practical nutrition education tailored to real-life eating scenarios in Taiwan.
In terms of health promotion, the program may serve as a supportive lifestyle intervention for weight management, dietary behavior improvement, and metabolic risk management. It aims not only to support short-term weight control, but also to help users develop long-term, sustainable eating habits.
For the development and validation of this program, phased verification was conducted on service workflow, nutritional content, digital functions, data security, and user outcomes.
The program was designed based on nutrition science, weight management, behavior change, and eating-out scenario management. A standardized workflow was established, including initial assessment, dietary recording, dietitian feedback, staged goal setting, body weight tracking, and eating-out nutrition education.
Internal professional reviews, dietitian pilot testing, case feedback, and workflow revisions were conducted to confirm feasibility, consistency, and practical value.
During scale-up, standard operating procedures were adopted for quality control, including dietitian guidelines, case records, dietary analysis logic, response review, abnormal case referral, and user follow-up. The Cofit App supports dietary recording, weight tracking, and nutritional analysis.
Verification items include record completion rate, dietitian follow-up rate, body data tracking rate, program completion rate, user satisfaction, weight management outcomes, and service abnormality tracking.
For users with special health conditions, chronic diseases, pregnancy or postpartum status, minors, or older adults, risk identification and referral mechanisms are included. Data security follows company information security and personal data protection policies.
Before initiation, users’ basic information, health status, weight management goals, eating habits, and risk factors are reviewed. For users with chronic diseases, pregnancy or postpartum status, minors, older adults, or other special health conditions, risk identification and referral mechanisms are applied when needed.
During delivery, the Cofit App supports dietary recording, weight tracking, and nutritional analysis. Dietitians provide feedback and staged adjustments based on standardized guidelines. QC focuses on record completeness, response quality, follow-up frequency, abnormal case identification, and goal adjustment appropriateness.
After completion or at review points, outcome and service quality assessments are conducted, including weight management outcomes, completion rate, satisfaction, behavior improvement, and service abnormality records. These data support service optimization, dietitian training, and workflow improvement.
To maintain quality stability, indicators are monitored, including record completion rate, weight data submission rate, dietitian follow-up rate, completion rate, satisfaction, weight management outcomes, abnormal case rate, referral execution rate, and issue resolution tracking rate.
Before initiation, users’ health status, weight goals, eating habits, and risk factors are reviewed. For users with chronic diseases, pregnancy or postpartum status, minors, older adults, or other special conditions, risk identification and referral reminders are applied when needed.
During delivery, dietitians provide guidance based on standardized guidelines, while the Cofit App tracks dietary records, weight data, and user progress. QA items include record completeness, response quality, follow-up frequency, abnormal case identification, and referral execution. If high-risk signals such as discomfort, extreme dieting, or abnormal weight changes are found, the abnormal case process is activated.
Before completion, outcome and service quality reviews are conducted, including completion rate, satisfaction, weight management outcomes, abnormality records, and case feedback.
After launch, key indicators such as abnormal case rate, complaints, issue reports, service audits, system stability, and data security are continuously monitored. When needed, a cross-functional task force conducts root cause analysis, improvement actions, and follow-up verification.
During the program, users’ health status, weight changes, eating behaviors, and abnormal reports are continuously monitored. If discomfort, extreme dieting, abnormal weight changes, chronic disease-related risks, or other high-risk signals are identified, the abnormal case process is activated. When needed, users are advised to seek support from healthcare professionals.
Service quality is reviewed through indicators such as completion rate, dietary recording rate, weight data submission rate, dietitian follow-up rate, user satisfaction, complaints, and abnormal event rate.
The Cofit App is maintained by the product and engineering teams through issue fixing, system stability monitoring, and version updates to ensure proper operation of dietary recording, weight tracking, nutritional analysis, and data storage. Personal health data are managed according to company information security and personal data protection policies.
For major system issues, data security events, service quality abnormalities, or user health risks, a cross-functional task force conducts root cause analysis, impact assessment, corrective actions, and follow-up verification. Preventive actions include workflow revision, dietitian training, system optimization, guideline updates, and improved follow-up mechanisms.
A 2024 study published in Nutrients demonstrated that the Cofit App, combined with dietitian-guided 211 flexible low-carbohydrate dietary intervention, achieved 5.42% to 8% weight reduction within 8 weeks, significantly outperforming App-based self-management alone.
This large-scale Taiwanese study included more than 10,000 Cofit App users aged 18 to 65. Participants were divided into two groups: one received “App + dietitian guidance,” while the control group used the App only for weight recording, dietary reference, and meal photo tracking. The study evaluated whether professional intervention, combined with digital tools, could further improve weight management outcomes.
The intervention applied the FLC flexible low-carbohydrate diet, which allows personalized adjustments according to lifestyle and eating habits, making it practical for people who frequently eat out.
Results showed that the dietitian-guided group achieved superior outcomes, with average weight reduction of 6.24% in men and 4.63% in women, compared with only 1.54% in the control group. These findings suggest that digital self-monitoring is beneficial, while professional dietitian guidance further enhances weight management effectiveness.
