Centering on nurse-led care and enriched by multidisciplinary teamwork, the Taoyuan Psychiatric Center (TYPC) rehabilitation ward provides a meticulously tailored recovery-oriented treatment model. Patients receive rehabilitation care within a therapeutic environment that is comfortable, safe, reassuring, and stable (the 'Four Serenities'), allowing them to attain optimal physical and mental well-being. By harnessing the strength and support of families, we collectively elevate the patients' overall sense of happiness and well-being.
Dedicated Care: Assigned specialists providing exclusive case management for chronic diseases. Smart Assessments: Fully integrated AI/smart tools to boost muscle strength, prevent falls, and maintain overall health. Chronic Disease Tracking: Regular evaluation, discussion, and monitoring of 6 major chronic conditions. Annual Health Screenings: Annual SARC-CalF (sarcopenia) assessments, InBody scans, physical fitness tests, bone density scans, and screenings for 4 major cancers. Bi-annual Ultrasounds: Abdominal ultrasound examinations every six months. Targeted Muscle Training: Tailored strength training programs grouped by individual risk levels for patients with sarcopenia or frailty. Mental Health Monitoring: Bi-annual administration of the Brief Symptom Rating Scale (BSRS-5). Spiritual Support: Respectful integration of spiritual activities based on patient religious beliefs and personal autonomy. Family Connection & Support: Routine updates to family members and 24/7 tele-consultation services provided by nursing staff.
Consists of 5 rehabilitation wards with a total of 340 beds. Patient Diagnosis: 98% are diagnosed with schizophrenia. Gender Distribution: 51% are female. Average Age: 52 years. Functional Status (Activities of Daily Living - ADL): High functioning (fully self-sufficient in ADLs): 36 patients, accounting for 10.6%. Moderate functioning (mostly self-sufficient in ADLs): 179 patients, accounting for 52.6%. Low functioning (requires partial assistance with ADLs): 125 patients, accounting for 36.8%. Total institutional staff: 538 employees. Total institutional capacity: 1,089 beds. Nursing and care personnel include 210 registered nurses, 6 nurse practitioners, and 96 nurse aides.
